Program Records Set as Track Competes at KMS Open

Piedmont College's track and field teams hit the road Jan. 31 for the Birmingham Crossplex for the second weekend in a row to compete in the one-day KMS Open in the early going of this indoor season.

Lady Lions Take Fourth Straight, Down Huntingdon 73-62

For the second straight day, the Piedmont women's basketball team led wire-to-wire, taking down Huntingdon, 73-62, on Jan. 30 at Cave Arena. The score the previous day was 83-65. The latest win moves the Lady Lions to 4-0 in the USA South, with the team tied with Maryville and LaGrange atop the West Division standings. The win was also the team's fourth consecutive win by double digits.

Clements-Owens Leads Lions in 69-62 OT Win at Covenant

After a loss to the Scots on Jan. 29, the Piedmont College men's basketball team rebounded the next day to earn an overtime victory at Covenant 69-62. The win moves the Lions to .500 on the season at 6-6 and handed Covenant its first loss in conference play.

The Piedmont College women's golf team won the match against Georgia Military College Oct. 4-5 at The Orchard Golf & Country Club, posting a team score of 702 to GMC's 782. Samantha Bearden carded an 82 in the second round to propel her to a low-medalist finish with a 166 overall.

Leemann's Top 10 Highlights Final Round for Men's Golf at Camden Collegiate

Camden, South Carolina-The Piedmont men's golf team concluded play in the Camden Collegiate hosted by Limestone University with the final round on Oct. 6. Matthew Leemann delivered his second 1-over 71 round of the event to lead all Lions with a tied for 10th-place finish. As a team, Piedmont fired a final round of 299 to finish the tournament at 48 over par, good for ninth out of the 11 teams competing.
