On Friday, May 9, in two ceremonies, Piedmont University conferred undergraduate degrees to more than 205 students, including 148 first-generation students, and 164 graduate students, including master's, EdS, and doctorate degrees. The ceremonies were held at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center on the Demorest campus.

On Friday, Dec. 13, Piedmont conferred degrees to 52 undergradate students, including 24 first-generation students, and to 93 graduate students, including master's, EdS, and doctorate degrees. The ceremony was held at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center on the Demorest campus. Professor Mark Evans, College of Education, and the 2024 Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award winner, was the guest speaker.

A total of 307 Piedmont University students received undergraduate and graduate degrees on Friday, May 5, during two commencement ceremonies. "To our graduates, congratulations on your tremendous success, and congratulations to your families, friends, and loved ones who supported you along the journey to your degree. We are so very proud to now call you Piedmont alumni," said Piedmont President Dr. James F. Mellichamp.

More than 200 students graduated from Piedmont University this summer. "You are to be commended for your persistence and commitment to your education, even in the face of a global pandemic. We are proud to now call you Piedmont alumni." All told, 26 undergraduate and 183 graduate students received their degrees from Piedmont.

Spring commencement services were held May 14 for the first-ever graduating class of Piedmont University. Piedmont officially changed its name from Piedmont College to Piedmont University in April. About 16 percent of the more than 400 undergraduate and graduate students earned cum laude, magna cume laude, and summa cum laude honors.
