The Piedmont College Lions baseball team claimed a series sweep over Brevard Feb. 23 with an 11-5 win against the Tornados. The Lions took a quick 5-0 lead in the first inning and continued the offensive prowess the team had shown throughout the series as it scored 11 or more in all three contests against Brevard.

Four Piedmont College students were recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference as the league announced athlete of the week awards Feb. 24.

Piedmont Lady Lions Tennis marked the program's first victory over the Berry College Vikings 3-1 on Feb. 23. The team clinched the match 5-4 at Piedmont's Demorest campus.

Nearly half of all Piedmont College varsity athletes earned a 3.4 or better grade point average for the fall semester and have been named to the Director of Athletics Honor Roll. In all, 185 student-athletes (49.5 percent) were named to the honor roll, the most in recent memory. Of those, 166 earned a 3.5 grade point average or better and 70 attained a 4.0.

Piedmont College congratulates the 19 students who graduated with honors in the fall. Each graduate earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. Honor graduates iinclude:
